Thought for the Week
What is church for? When it comes to a faith community’s public purpose, there are as many answers as there are members. Over time, personal preferences for what church does for our interests and those we care about tend to take centre stage. The sense of a shared, common public purpose is harder to express. When our personal preferences come into contact with the reality of Christ’s story and its counter-cultural power, we are invited to examine our priorities and contribute to a communal purpose that is refreshed and shaped by the gospel.

Prayer Pointers
1. We pray for ourselves: that the questions we have of God in relation to struggles and pain, may find their true expression in our prayers.
2. We pray for God to bless the Napier Family Centre: for its AGM this week, and for its persistent work of caring, equipping, educating, healing, restoring and releasing.
3. We pray for this congregation and its leaders: for wisdom to discern and lead according to the priorities of the Kingdom of God and the living Christ.
