Stitch-in-Time

The ladies of A Stitch In Time will be meeting on Monday, 5th June at 1.30pm. It could be a smaller group because of Queen’s Birthday week-end, but we will still have the usual fun and fellowship and an activity for all. New members very welcome.

Save ‘Praise Be’

Praise Be to be taken off the air. Greetings to all churches/congregations. As the past Chairperson of Churches Broadcasting Commission, I was approached to send an email to all the possible Church contacts from our old database. You might have heard that Praise Be is being taken off the air. This is a real shame as it was great publicity for church and school choirs, congregations around the country and a lot of older people in particular enjoy this programme as it’s often their only access to support their faith. In the past Churches Broadcasting Commission would have dealt with this (and did several years ago when the same issue arose). This group is in recess now. We are encouraging all the churches/parishioners to write to TVNZ and complain about their lack of consultation with churches/parishes/retirement villages/the wider public in making this decision. Please pass this message onto all your synods/parishes and the wider community.
Trish Moseley Taylor (past Chairperson of Churches Broadcasting Commission)
