Greetings everyone,
Have a look at Kerry’s comment on last week’s reflections. I think that is the heart of the gospel message, particularly as seen through the eyes of the writer of John’s gospel. So this week we have the last of the encounters with Jesus before his fateful journey to Jerusalem.
This time Jesus is with his friends Mary and Martha. Their brother Lazarus has died. Have a read of the story in John 11. Which phrases stand out for you?
What impact do you think telling this story might have had on the community from whom John’s gospel was written?
What might this story have to say to the community at St Paul’s today?
Happy pondering,
Sally
